I checked the vendor I'd on my bold and it says 102 which belongs to Cingular as the phone is from Cingular. So do I need to load the tmobile vsm file because I am going to use it with tmobile or some other vsm file.
Also when connected to desktop manager what OS do I load? Where do I get that opeating system? Do I need to delete any file from the OS before I load it or etc etc. Like vendor.xml etc etc.
Thanks!

mps3. Thankd for your point. But does anyone know the answer to my question. I have at&t bold unlocked and using with tmobile. But I do not want the att logo when it starts up and also to get the 3g/2g option. So can someone tell me what vsm file shall I use and what operating system to load and where to get it from in step 13.
Thanks

Hey, this VSM, is this for unbranded? I just want to ask rather than load it up. If it's unbranded, what does the startup logo look like? Is it the same logo you get when you first start the Internet Browser? I'm using VSM-11697-001 which works great but, though petty, the startup logo is pixelated and kind of ugly. Also when you press ALT + CAP + H what appears? Do you get the Help Screen or the Engineering Screen Contents? Really appreciate it.

EDIT: duh, didn't realize it was vend 179. Ok, I've never loaded 179, so can you tell me if when you press ALT + CAP + H do you get help or Engineering Screen.

Ok, ignore my post answered my own question. 179 doesn't allow for the Engineering Screen which I've grown to really like. Going back to VSM-11697-001.

FOR ANY AT&T USERS: Most at&t people know AMR-HR is way overused on the EDGE network and voice quality suffers. With the Engineering Screen you can force AMR-FR for a much much more satisfying voice experience. Anyone using the VSM-11697-001 can force this by using ALT + CAP + H.

Guys I have done it. Now my bold is unlocked and it says Blackberry when it turns on rather than ATT. It has the option now to choose between 2g or 3g or both. Before when it was att branded it it did not had that option as att locked that option.

I followed the steps written above. But my steps did not go the as exact as it was written above. After I pl***ed in the bold for the first time with the option AotoStart ON, It read the phone and kept on doing some things on its own. Then it gave me an error and got stuck at the error attached. The error was "Load: MFI -17584-032. Unaable to cast COM of object tpye 'RIMRA" and to the right of it it said big "FAIL" in red. I got scared. But then I looked at the bold and saw that it was saying "NO Application Linked (Factory OS)" When I saw this written on Bold I saw a hope thinking that what if I did not see 1 on my bold and I didint see PASS on my phone atleast I am seeing this "NO Application Linked (Factory OS)" on my phone which I was supposed to see anyway on the phone in step11. So I just continued the steps beyond that to see what happens. SO I followed the next step of loading the OS and boommm the phone was back up debranded. It took some time for the phone to reboot and start but it did.
Now follow th links below and the steps as atated by mmlp86. The steps remain the same but I am just giving here the links for the softwares to download.
To debrand any blackberry phone the steps are going to be the same but the only thing that will change is the VSM file.
So to get the MFI loader follow the link below
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=653921
Please follow the steps exactly as written in this post. Please remember if anyone tells you to skip a step dont listen. Its your phone and it will be your brick if any step is skipped. So follow the steps dont be lazy.
So once you have downloaded the MFI also download the latest OS (Operating System) for the bold. It can be found in the link below
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html
Also when you are about to load the OS into the bold do follow the steps 1, 2 and 3. DO not skip any step. Make sure you follow the step number 2 to delete the vendor.xml file for sure.
NOw download the VSM file for Bold from the link below

http://www.zshare.net/download/54055211e9ac6430/

Now that you have for the MFI loader, the VSM file and the OS system also, follow the steps that mmlp86 posted. Now the steps are given and the links also to donwload the softwares so I believe there shouldnt be any problem.
Also make sure you read the below thread also just for your knowledge so that you have a little better understanding.
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/show...&highlight=mfi

Take care

I want to add and make it more clear. Please only follow the steps 1 to 6 when you are downloading the MFI loader. The other instructions after step 6 are used to unlock the blackberry. We are only debranding the phone.

If you stop at 6, you won't even get to load the vsm. I don't think you meant what you typed above....

Also, has anyone debranded an att Bold and tried it with an ATT sim? I understand you get teh 2g/3g option with a tmo (or other) sim, but I have heard even after debranding, if you use an att sim, you get no 2g/3g select option. True?
