Help needed regarding changing of IMEI for 8520 Curve - GSM-Forum

Hey friends, I need some help in changing IMEI number of 8520 Curve I recently bought. Actually the guy I bought it from must have found it somewhere or stolen it, that's why he gave it to me for very cheap price. But now I am fearing to go online with this, I have already formatted the memory card and phone memory, also updated the OS by removing all the applications.

I am using Radio Lab Tool v1.9.1.2 and when I connect my phone to the PC and try to click on the connect button, it displays the following error:

I tried connecting with and without Mass Storage Device service, both didn't work.

A few things:

#1- Changing the IMEI is illegal.

#2- The stolen software you're trying to use, doesn't even support that phone.

#3- You're ESPECIALLY not going to find anyone knowledgable enough to help you on your illegal escapade with 1 post from a brand new account.

Since you got it very cheap, you can probably afford another one and that is my recommendation.
