Thanks for all the feedback everyone...Same is happening to me..I've unlocked several Blackberry Bolds, but I have now come across 4 Bolds that will not unlock, no matter what I do. I receive this error:

"FAIL: Timeout. Cannot reconnect to radio. The device may be password enabled, please make sure the password is correct. Cannot reconnect to radio."

I've tried everything, different cable, batteries, all the phones state the same error. MFI has worked on all phones I've unlocked, including some Bolds...but the most recent 4 I've tried, gets stuck in MFI and has a RED BLINKING light that repeats every 3 seconds.

PLEASE, SOMEONE HELP. I'm stuck!! Need ideas!!

Hey peeps, I finally received a bold to try. Alot of people seem to be getting problems with unlocking bold's using mml. It must be that those are new security???

Well firstly i used mml 1.8 an the bold imei 35xxx02xxxxxx.
I did the 1st run as normal with bold's - battery out, auto-start checked, nuke unchecked. The program hanged at loading mep/mfi (can't remember which) but then it failed due to connection error.
I then restart the program an re-connect the bold with the battery in, the program hangs again at mfi/mep (very long this time), the led blink twice, pause, blink twice, but also on the screeen of the device, the '1' was showing (a normal sign of unlock complete). MML didn't pass/fail only hang, so i just unplugged the phone at this point, and had to force-close mml.
I type start, then reflash the device using DM and check the locks, all locks disabled, unlock complete!

If you can't get yours done using mml, save yourself some time and use server option or buy dongle.

Problem:
MML Stops connecting / Unlocking blackberries

Cause:
RIM seems to have updated their drivers which will block MML from working.
The seem to get updated when connecting a bold/storm.
The new drivers are also in the new Device Manager d/l.

Solution:
1) Copy [BbDevMgr.exe] from the location C:\MML\bin\
2) Overwrite the one in the location C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\USB Drivers\

MML Should connect again.
If not, try un-installing the blackberry drivers from device manager and try the steps again.

Happy unlocking!

connection prob solved

this in fact made my bb connect and possibly want to unlock except i get a no MFI located on disk or a similar message
i checked the configuration file that i had updated from a post here on GSM-F and it had a line that i checked alongside the MFI folder in MML\HHFiles
it's MFI-19441-023 for the 8900 BB

any clues as to how to pick up these MFI files...

thanks for the heads up and of course to the OP for a nice fix

Happy new year to all my gsm family!
I'm glad to help many of you.

To [elmo3121] and [orangeworx], I hope you researched on the forum enough to note that newer BB models are not supported (Storm, Javelin, Gemini, etc), so don't get headaches trying. Many 'dongles' out there to purchase

But for all others, mml is still a useful told for de-branding and unlocking the older models.
It even helps me to re-cover 'red blinks' and 'error xxx' on those models.
