5800 unlocks on Genie but phone still locked - GSM-Forum

Hi,

Unlocked T-Mobile Nokia 5800 today with Genie Universal and it unlocked absolutely fine however when tried Orange sim in phone, it said sim card registration failed.

The Orange sim was tested in another phone and works fine.
A T mobile sim also subsequently tested in phone and works fine so phone is not barred.

Please help.

sim card registration failed means the phone is blocked or the sim is not working right - no other explanation.

Try cleaning the sim or try another orange sim

Reflash the phone to latest firmware. It should be able to fix the problem. This is due to firmware fault.
