Genie BB5 RPL Realtime Logger Updates

This thread will list all updates and features of the BB5 Logger for Genie device.

Main features:

- Ability to repair damaged simlock data in BB5 phones
- Realtime server operation or via ASK/RPL files
- It can rebuild fully erased simlock after full erase
- It can create default 'unlocked' RPL file
- It can create locking RPL file from provided simlock.bin file
- It can back up simlock from locked phone as simlock.bin
- It can generate unlock codes when locking a phone
- It can read simlock status
- Generated RPL file from server is saved to a file as backup

Limitations:

- It will not repair missing certificates
- It will not repair bad imei: 12345....
- It will not repair Secure Watchdog shutdown
- It will not generate SuperDongle Key data

How To Use:

- Connect Genie to a PC via mini USB cable
- Run log.smx in your device via the keypad
- USB device will show in Windows(install drivers if first run)
- Start BB5Logger.exe in Windows and press 'Connect'
- Connect a phone to Genie via the adapter
- Tick 'Use Server' and enter your UN/PW
- Press 'Read', allow internet access from your Firewall
- The RPL file will be saved in the program directory
- Press 'Write', select RPL file and continue

I have existing credits, how to upload to the server:

- Connect Genie to PC via mini usb cable
- Run log.amx
- Install drivers if needed, run BB5Logger.exe
- Press Connect
- Think of a password and type it(at least 8 characters)
- No need to enter User Name, as your device SN will be used for that
- Make sure you have working Internet, press Credits, allow firewall access if requested
- You should get server version and amount of credits transfered to server
- When all done, you can connect by using your device SN as username and the chosen pass
- Please note that the upload will work only once, then if you want top up, you should contact
us for getting new credits and adding them to your existing account

How much does it cost:

- Calculating RPL file by our server will take away credits from
your account. This will cost you different amount of money based
on how much credits you have prepaid. More info about credits here

- Rapido CPU: 5320, 5700, 6110, 6120c, 6121c, 6124c, 6210, 6220c, 6290, 6650
E51, E66, E71,E75, N76, N78, N81, N81 8Gb, N79, N85, N82, N95 8Gb, N96...

- RAP3 CPU(hash BAF3...): 3120c, 3555, 3555b, 5310, 5310b, 5610, 5610b, 6267, 6263, 6300i,
6500s, 6500c, 6555, 7500, 7900, 8800Arte...

- RAP3 CPU(hash 9DDB...): 3600c, 5220, 7210c, 7310, 6600s, 6600f, 7610s...

How do I get real-time updates and server status

- This forum is very slow most of the time, so you can check
my tweet for the latest status of the server or if we have important
announcements

- Windows program will save some parameters to ini
file (form position, boot timeout value) and will be
used on next load
- Some improvements on the log.amx script regarding
credits upload to server

- Support for RAP3 phones with hash BAF3....
- Update button removed, please do not use older
versions with this function

How to update:

1. Run FTP.exe and update your card contents
2. Use charger and update your device firmware,
you will get version 0.161
3. Run log.smx from Programs\Script

How much:

It will take 20 credits from your server account for each RPL.

So, now the logger supports all BB5 phones except SL3 firmware and phones with
hash 9DDB...

WARNING: The server will make RPL for SL3 phones, but in old format. There is no
way to detect SL3 firmware from RAP3 ID, so its your responsibility to check. If you
do calculate SL3 RPLs, you will loose credits, please note we will not going to refund
them !

- Major improvments on the program usability
- Operations are split into separate Tabs, main
Tab is the Logger, where you can read/write etc
Options tab is for settings and server details
- Ability added to check credits on the server
(Check Credits button in Options Tab)
- Improvments on Upload credits menu, now backup
could be auto re-used for upload in case of server
error. Also selected UN/PW will be printed on screen
- Program will save username and password to the
bb5logger.ini file if you keep the 'Use Server' box
selected before closing. So on next start your details
will be ready for use

Update on the server, v 0.43

Due to some users using bad cables, we change the charging policy of the
server as follows:

- RPL calculation - 45 credits
- Reading ask file for RAPIDO CPU phones - FREE
- Reading ask file for RAP3 phones(hash BAF3...) - 5 credits
- Reading ask file for RAP3 phones(hash 9DDB...) - 5 credits
