GENIE Questions

Just got 2 genie box today for on the road.

There seems to be no decent user guide.

Can you confirm what buttons turn the device on/off and what the numbers buttons are used for?

Best

Thanks all.

However, the 2 units i have Will Not turn on Using number '1'?

I have fully charged the battery, once unplugged and turned off, the device will not power on unless plugged in....

Can anyone explain what the fault is or is this just a common fault you know about already?

Without portability these devices are useless for the purpose i purchased them for.

I suppose you have updated your SD card to the last version...

Of course you mustn't have plugged the AC adaptor neither the usb cable.

Push reset button from back of Genie (push and release) and wait to reset, then push button "1" for 4 seconds at least and release the button; Genie must be OFF in this point. Press again button "1" for TWO seconds and release the button. Genie MUST be ON here. If not, something is wrong in your box.

How much is the battery value ? The only possible reason i can think for this
is if you have dead cell.

Thanks.

Its the same with both batteries/box.

Its an intermitten fault, the batteries are Full. Its not a battry fault.

Given thats its the same fault with both boxes i find it a little strange you have never encountered this before.

So, if its not the battery, what do you think the fault is?

I have exactly the same fault, sometimes if I disconnect/reconnect the battery it will turn on using the '1' button but most of the time I have to plug it into the mains for it to work.

To be honest it was a pain in the ar*e so now I just use mains power.

This is a great piece of kit for unlocking Nokias, and as I only use it in my shop this fault doesn't cause me a problem.

Well so far i have unlocked every Nokia i tried without problem, so from that point it works fine, however, as i need it when i'm away from the shop its quite useless unless it turns on..

I hope official support can shed some light on this and help me find a solution?
