Error 18 means that the firmware is not up to date
if you have older version 186r, you need to update to 186r first.
fonefunshop made a very good update video, for the people who
dont like to read the manual :)

so, first you need to update to 186r manually, and then make update vie genie update client, after that via remote tools, and all will be fine.
