How to use Australian iPhone 4S in UK?!? - GSM-Forum

I've got an iPhone 4s in UK which was sent from Australia. I am trying all the different UK sims but its not working. I DO get signal however (3G appears with bars) but soon it takes me to activation screen. It then asks me to enter a compatible sim card to activate the iPhone. I tried activating through iTunes but thats not working either. I guess the compatible simcard should be an Australian sim which I dont have here. How do I get around this problem? Does the phone needs to be unlocked inorder to work? I've tried jailbreaking it but it still takes me to activation screen. I got full signal by the way but I cant make or recieve calls.

I found a way to bypass the activation screen from youtube videos however once I try to make a call it takes me to the activation screen. someone help please!!!

would rebel sim or gevey sim work??

you have to unlock iphone and u can do it with xsiim
