How to properly make backups - GSM-Forum

Hi everybody

Reading on different forums about backup up cell phones before any flashing or unlocking, I've read that depending on which type of phone, there are different files to backup.

For DTC4 phones, PM should be backed up
For BB5 phones, PM and CRT should be backed up

Is this information correct? If so, how can this be done with MXkey?

Couple of more questions!
1. By ticking "save backup before flashing" I get a full backup which can be used in case anything goes wrong?
2. I read that there is also another file to make backup that is RPL?
3. Can I use a backup made with customer care 0.78 and restore it with MXkey?

can backup RPL data depend of UEM IMEI. except ASIC 11.
not in PM area.
BB5
need LOCAL MODE for make FULL BACKUP

Sorry about the questions. I just want to know how to make a full backup of the phones I will be dealing with in case something goes wrong during the process of flashing or unlocking!

yes. i always backup rpl and pm before doing unlock with mxkey.. just in case
