Make your own calculations regarding speed over money ...
But, if you like the name "Tesla" from NVIDIA cards - you know why I say this then buy Nvidia cards - ... and throw away your money just to have "Tesla" printed on your videocards inside your PC.
I think is not so good choice of Nvidia guys (who seems are not so smart) to use the name of Nikola Tesla, who was a really smart and open minded guy. Anyway, just my pure personal opinion here (regarding "Tesla" name).
But speeds over prices from Nvidia versus ATI is a pure real fact. I also not take care here about power consumption too (who is far away less on ATI cards versus Nvidia at same ammount of SHA1 hashes processed).

Best regards,
Zulea
1st ... i'm glad you're here
2nd ... totally agree about what they call "power per watt"
3rd ... i will definatly borrow my friend's 5850, tomorrow when i get mx-key credits ...

blahhh ... agree ... totaly wrong name they used ...
and, yes, nVidia can be used HEATER, in these cold days

thanx for your attention

Up to about 55h. The time posted in first post is an average for one phone based on 100 calculations.

uhmmm.. do i have to have connected mxkey to computer all time of calculation?
or maybe mxkey is needed at start and end of process.
i'm asking because it will be nice to make code in background and do something else in this time.

i think this time (55h) is for 100 phones. so average time for one phone is 55/100 [h] = 33minutes
am i right?

Please read again first message posted by Manole on this thread. There is some money calculations there too:

High hardware system cost (TWO Dual ATI HD 5970):
Total price: $1688
Estimated selling price after one year: $1300
Cost to own this hardware for one year: $388

$388 = 10 phones unlocked by using any of other teams server based systems !!!
You have also to "lock" some money (1700$) for few time (6 months, one year ...). Put this money in any bank will give you less than 10% in one year Also in this days trusting banks ... hmmm
Make your own calculations and choose what is better. And not forget, with STANDALONE BRUTEFORCE you can easy and CLEARLY inform end customer about when his phone will be unl;ocked (not like some other team, some lottery and fighting to get one so called "free-slot").

Best regards,
Zulea

Fair deal, no hidden charges or waiting times, a thing for respect.
However, even if it's 3 or 4 days on slower hardware, it's still ok.
People learned in the meantime, that they must wait some time,
for SL3 phones, that part is clear after all

thanx again, for clear explanations, and calculations.

I am talking here also about something like "SHA1 speed per dollar/euro". I think this is more important. And at this point, ATI is far away the winner (let's say with 2-3 laps advance).

Best regards,
Zulea

That would be great but no, it's 55h per ONE phone if you get 5850. It takes other teams over an hour to calculate one phone with their servers farm, it would be just too good and impossible to calculate it with one GPU so fast.
