6990 are obsolete and slow cards, also too much power hungy. (speed = ~ 2 x 2100MHash/sec, one card = dual GPU, power more than 400w per card) get 3 x 7970, which are faster, colder, and less power hungry, (speed = ~3350MHash/sec, single gpu, power = around 200W one) 3 x 3350M = ~10.150MHash/sec (10.1GHash/sec), max time per phone = 26h b.r.  there is, of course, more than stream unit number etc, it does matter the architecture of stream computing units, too. (and higher clocks are possible on 7970 card - up to 1200MHz) in short - I will repeat, 7970 cards = best performace per watt. the end. b.r. Alex | |
