Via USB you can work with phones based on qualcomm like huawei u120 with mini usb connector, or others with a bit different connector like plusfon 603i etc - this you can connect with cables from phone set.

do i need to buy the martech box as well because i can't think of any other way.

what u people say about now for com port after 5 weeks.

You can use for new boots VSZ2 with com port selecting, for 125/225 you have to wait until update.
