N9 downgrade not allowed - ultimate guide inside !!!

@ALL

Ok seems I need to make it clear to everyone that:

1. ALL N9 CANNOT BE DOWNGRADED TO A LOWER FIRMWARE VERSION

and most importantly

2. FIRMWARE VERSION checking WILL INCLUDE THE VARIANT VERSION!!!

For example, you got an N9 with the Latest Firmware Version and it
came from China with a CHINESE VARIANT Firmware Inside. Typically,
CHINESE VARIANT is 003...

Sample Filename for Chinese Variant Firmware:
DFL61_HARMATTAN_30.2012.07-1_PR_LEGACY_003-OEM1-958_ARM.bin

Ok, so from the FILENAME, it clearly tells you the following:
Firmware Version: 30.2012.07-1
Firmware Variant: 003

So what if you want to flash ARABIC to it??? Will you be able to
Flash???
The Answer is YES, IF YOU CAN FIND AN ARABIC VARIANT which is
HIGHER than 003...

Here are sample filenames for LATEST FIRMWARE with ARABIC:
DFL61_HARMATTAN_30.2012.07-1.468.2_PR_LEGACY_468_ARM_RM-696_PRD_signed.bin
DFL61_HARMATTAN_30.2012.07-1.334.1_PR_LEGACY_334_ARM_RM-696_PRD_signed.bin

Your Phone will accept the ARABIC Firmware for sure, because
468 is BIGGER than 003
and
334 is also BIGGER than 003

So now after flashing with ARABIC, Do you think it is still possible
to flash your phone BACK to CHINESE 003 ???
Simple Answer: NO!
Why Sir Why ????
Because Arabic Variant 468 or 334 is HIGHER than Chinese Variant 003 !!! DOWNGRADE NOT ALLOWED NOT ALLOWED SIR...

So you 2 options if you want to flash back to Chinese...
1. Find a FIRMWARE VARIANT with CHINESE which is BIGGER than 468 (maybe it does not exists)!
2. Wait for a newer FIRMWARE VERSION, higher than 30.2012.07-1

So the next time you guys get an error in ATF Software telling you:
ERROR: MEEGO Device Flashing Failed!
Firmware Version Downgrade NOT ALLOWED
Please use a HIGHER Firmware Version...

Please Do not blame the ATF Software, because it is only telling the TRUTH!

Find yourself the solution by looking for a flash file with a HIGHER VARIANT
and with the correct Language Pack Inisde (if Possible)...

Here is an example of a VARIANT with a HIGH NUMBER
Australian:
DFL61_HARMATTAN_30.2012.07-1.523.2_PR_LEGACY_523_ARM_RM-696_PRD_signed.bin

Here is an example of a Variant with a LOW NUMBER
DFL61_HARMATTAN_30.2012.07-1_PR_LEGACY_001-OEM1-958_ARM.bin

I HOPE EVERYTHING IS VERY CLEAR NOW!!!
Just search for VARIANTS with HIGH NUMBERS in NAVIFIRM+
Download Latest Version of NaviFirm+ here:

I would suggest downloading another flash file with product code 059L800.

The filename for version 20.2011.40-4 is:
DFL61_HARMATTAN_20.2011.40-4.342.01.1_PR_LEGACY_342_ARM_RM-696_PRD_signed.bin

The filename for version 30.2012.07-1 is:
DFL61_HARMATTAN_30.2012.07-1.342.01.1_PR_LEGACY_342_ARM_RM-696_PRD_signed.bin

The Variant Version is higher than your current 341 and it is also for
a Polish Provider (albeit a different one).

What happens if you put your N9 in R & D mode and see if Lumia Software Recovery Tool will restore device from here: http://download-fds.webapps.microsof...lInstaller.exe
Don't be put off by change of name as still compatible with N9.
