iPad Air 2018 A1893 no backlight - GSM-Forum

I got 2 ipad air 2018 A1893 here with no backlight.

Both have never been opened or repaired before.

When new lcd is placed, sometimes for a short period (10 sec) backlight works and then off. If then ipad is disconnected from battery again lcd works 10 sec.

Already checked filters and FPC connector but these are good and give the correct diode mode values from phoneboard.

For the diode one side is low and should read +_700 but shows 230. Already replaced the diodes with new ones but doenst solve the problem.

Backlight coils look fine (no crack or anything)

So maybe it is the backlight ic?

Anyone some suggestions?

remove coil from board and recheck , even if crack is not visible externally it is not said that it is working, try another coil and if problem persist replAce BL ic

Turned out Backlight ic was dead.

Harvested them from ipad air 2017.

phoneboard has board schematics for 2018 available.

after repair donot put old lcd your lcd maybe short
