Member: 2597894 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | iPhone 5C earpiece problem Ive tried searching for this solution but i cant find any. I've repaired 2 iPhone 5c (screen replacement) and after the repair both the earpieces stopped working. Can't see anything wrong on the mainboard. I've looked online and some people have the same problem but i have yet to find a solution. Ive tried several earpieces, front camera flexes and new screens. Seems to be a problem with the mainboard itself. Would changing the audio ic maybe work? Even though the sound on the phone works fine. Thanks in advance |

The audio ICs aren't cheap, so you don't want to be replacing it if you don't need to. I found this out myself the hard way! I had the same earpiece problem, so I swapped the audio IC - cost me £8.50 (GBP) - but it did not fix it. Only then did I realise that FL52 had gone open circuit, so I jumped it and that did fix it. So in my case, I did the expensive and harder option first and replaced a perfectly good audio chip! I try to do the cheaper and easier things first, now. |
