Member: 2215434 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Iphone 5 - Dead - Need advice so great to have an community with so many talented technicians. So i thought you could help me with my iphone 5 which fell to the floor (glass cracked) but worked until completely uncharged. Since then never started again. While looking through the schematics and following traces I thought it would be a good way to read out Voltage at L1, because there should be "USBHS ON/OFF TOLERANCE 5V/1.98V" . But all I get there is 0,1 -0,2V which seems pretty unstable. As far as I see there is no need to read caps located nearby CPU cause if there is no Voltage at L1 there should not be correct Voltage so far in the circuit, which is the case, for example C71 has 0,1 -0,2V too. What I was curios about was that TP1 has stable 5V so docking connector seems to be OK. Maybe someone had this symptoms or could give me an advice where I lose the voltage on circuit. Also checked for shorts in caps located around CPU. All OK. A closer look through magnifier - All OK. |

Member: 2215434 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Sorry for the late reply, but I managed to add 3,8VDC from PS, instead of Battery. But nothing happens. Holding ON/Off makes no difference. Is there a way to add a specific Voltage to an point that lets me start the device to a stage where I could recover the data? By the way, did not want to spend big money on laboratory Power Supply so I went with this cute tiny (but very effective) DC DC Converters. Just hooked up an old 7VDC;1,5A Power Supply to my little tool and after a little adjusting, voila 3,8VDC at max 2A. And look at the cost of this thing (Sorry I cant add links, just search ebay for "DC-DC Buck Converter Step Down Module LM2596") Would love to see some recovery tips |
