Make jumper with wire on it.
Thanks! I made a jumper and now iPhone starts up! But it boots to lock screen and then shuts off. And it doesn't show in iTunes.

Then I connected USB again and I saw strange thing: one of the motherboards show just strange lines on LCD. And when USB is connected, I measured 860 ohm between white wire and ground and 680 ohm between red wire and ground (no ground connectivity for white and red when USB is disconnected). Any idea what is happening?

Thank you for all the help Wites!

Update: it shows 9,8 kohm for white->ground when USB is not connected (and it beeps with very fast beeps, like machine gun). Strange. I will resolder the white wire.

Good news. I resoldered wires and now iPhone boots up and stays on. But it doesn't show in iTunes and LCD shows that battery is not charging. But voltage rises to 3,73V on battery red wire when USB is connected. What can I do to get connection to iTunes? Thanks!

Thanks Wites! I know I am asking too many questions but I would like to know, do you have iphone 2g board to check battery terminal readings? My motherboards show really strange things:

Motherboard 1: doesn't start up anymore. I cleaned battery pads and the reading for white wire pad moves around 900 ohms and for red wire pad it grows from 40 ohms to 160 ohms. I don't see any shortages even with magnification.

Motherboard 2: doesn't start up but LCD shows that empty battery is charging, but voltage on battery is not raising (stays on 3,5V). Reading shows 10 ohms for white wire (no numbers for red wire).

Can you check your own readings or give advice where to search for shortages? Thanks!

Here are pictures:

This readings are without battery connected or with battery?
I ask because it will not show precisely omh with battery connected.
If first board have that reading chk with battery for heat where is short there will heat.

The readings are like on the picture: first board without battery, second board with battery. I will check for heat, thanks!
What do you think, why is ohm reading rising for battery pad on first board? Capacitor somewhere?

Of course.
I'm really puzzled as my iphones are acting really strange. Now I don't have short circuit in battery wires and green fuse has jumper but it still doesn't turn on. I try to study schematics, I'm beginner.
Thanks for all the help, Wites!

This phone must have a ghost in it or something.

Basically I was trying a few batteries.

I took out an APN: 616-0431 battery that didn't boot the phone, I put in APN: 616-0428 and it worked, then I put in another 616-0431 battery and it worked also, and then I put in the original 616-0431 that didnt boot originally and this time it started.

The boot is weird though.

When I first start the phone the Apple logo is dim, and 5 seconds later its usual brightness.

3G 3GS wifi holder replace

My brother gave me his 3gs to fix as his wifi would not work at all. I opened it up and noticed the wifi connector was off but i wondered why it would clip into place. Then with usb microscope i seen that the wifi holder was cracked and pieces missing. I have ordered a new wifi holder but would anyone know how i would go about taking the old one off and replacing the other one. I have some skills in this area using heat guns soldering but haven't came across this. can anyone help.

Could you please show this wifi holder component? Do you mean the wifi aerial connector? (Connector 6)
