mate you have to connect to the solder part of a component. If you are going to do your first ever soldering onto that component i feel its too risky and you ll end up damaging the motherboard more.

its wiser if you just go to a friend and tell him to do it, try restoring and remove that wire after. That is my advice. Now at the end is your choice.

Hello!

I have a problem with an Iphone 3G. The vibrator wasn't working so i disassembled the phone and tried to reposition the vibrator piece.

Unfortunately, while i was doing this, i managed to short circuit one capacitor from the circled area.

I am not very sure which one, but i used a tweezers and a flame appeared.

Now the phone doesnt power on, not even connected to the wall-charger / USB cable.

Please help, click here for the picture - better understanding.

Many thanks in advance!

Tell me, at what point of the restore process it crushes. If it is in the control part of the process it could help to let the battery drain totally and then put it in the charger. Mine come back to life through this.
Hope this helps.
HI friend, the error come when itunes said waiting for iphone (in the begining after preparing the iphone) thanks

I have a small problem. Whenever my iPhone 3G goes to sleep, it will just shut off. Wont come back on. I have to hold home and power for 10 secs to revive it. This problem will not happen if connected to charger/USB.

This had been dropped from height and thus this happened. Any solutions?

I had a Working iphone 3g but had to open it up to repair the silent button.
When I opend the iPhone I Immidiately smelled something burning but did not pay attention to it. disambled phone and repaired button. but when I tryed the phone it will not power on. When I plug in the charger and push the power button I see screen turn black but does not power on.
What can be wrong. changed battery and power connector but stil nothing

Regards Nico

What happens if you connect it to a PC/MAC? Does it get recognized or not?

Had a similar problem. In my case replaced LTC-4088 and it was back to life.

When I connect it to my pc nothing happens. When I press the power button when connected to pc I see the LCD turns black.

Do you have Picture of component you mean to replace?

The component i am referring to is the one shown in the attachment. Try to follow the directions written. Could be it is not the origin of the fault. Its difficult when unit is not in hand. If it is not it the last thing you would want is that the PCM ic needs to be replaced. Am assuming it is not the case.

I forgot who shared this one up (its not my work). So if he is reading this thread dont jump on me .

Hope this helps
