Member: 1996518 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 15 | Soldering U2 back iPhone5 got an iPhone5 which drained Battery very fast. U2 was heating, so i removed it by putting the solder tip direct onto the chip. Now i ordered a new U2 chip and want to put it back with hot air. Anyone can give me an advice which temperature is save to work with? 250°C / low airflow, and hide CPU with small piece of metal cover? Regards |

Member: 1996518 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 15 | Never did this repair before, so the risk to damage the device is high I think. I will try, since I can't use it with damaged U2 I have nothing to lose.. When you have placed it back, aligned it properly and use little of airflow it should work |

Member: 1996518 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 15 | I replaced the chip yesterday. Reballed it with leaded solder, covered the CPU with two euros. I used 290c (display value) with 6mm nozzle, 3.0 airflow. Took some time to get to the desired temperature. I permanently watched through my microscope until solder melted. Phone works like designed now. The hardest part was reballing the chip without additional tools, but with 0.1mm tip. |

Member: 2205919 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 33 | to remove U2 i use 180degree, and slowly remove glue from U2 chip and around it... then i heat it with 380degree, remove, then 180degree remove rest of the glue under it and that's it |
