Information for users who have problems after update:

Recently, we introduced online firmware update method. It's required in order to improve RIFF Box security, so all RIFF Box users can benefit from future updates.
Due to some serious bugs with older RIFF Box driver, on Windows XP, some users were unable to receive latest RIFF Box firmware. We have analyzed this problem, and here is resolution:

  • Problem: Your RIFF Box had received firmware already

This happens if You have old RIFF Box driver, and You have closed RIFF JTAG Manager during firmware update process. If You have such error, You need to clean Your system from old inf entries.
You can do it by simply running RIFF Box 1.50 Setup file. It will clean and update INF files at very end of setup process.

After this, You should re-connect Your box on USB port, and provide driver location if requested. DO NOT let Windows wizard to perform automatic install, because it will install an old driver again.
Always select "Select Driver location manually" option.

This method applies for both RIFF Control Port and RIFF Firmware Update Port.

After You perform all these steps, If You have such problem, You need to open Support Ticket here:
    Legija's Unlock Forum

Make sure to provide all information - Your user name, Box SN, and explanation of problem.

You can also wait for new firmware version, in case that You don't Speak English, Chinese, Russian, Serbian, Croatian, Macedonian, Montenegrin, Slovenian or You never heard for google translate.
  • Problem: Access denied for current RIFF Box

If You have such error, it means that You abused the system. Some users keep click "Update" even 1000 times.
One user from Dominican Republic done it for 2138 times by now, and counting.

If You have such problem, You need to open Support Ticket here:
    Legija's Unlock Forum

Make sure to provide all information - Your user name, Box SN, and explanation of problem.
  • Problem: ERROR: Couldn't connect to the Updates Server. Try again later.
If You live in country with Sharia Law, (Islamic countries) or You are behind corporate firewall, You will need to use VPN in order to access update server.

VPN server instructions You can read here:
    http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f634...tries-1698717/

We will change server location in short time, and hopefully resolve this problem from our end.
  • Problem: The RTCK Signal does not respond.

This problem can occur in several scenarios. If You are sure it's not problem of connection with target device, and it happened only after firmware update, this is what You have to do:

    - Your box is under warranty:

Return RIFF Box to Your dealer for replacement. If Your dealer does not want to comply to warranty terms, please contact me so I can remove him from our dealers list.

In case that Your dealer is NOT on our list, we CAN NOT help You.

    - Your box is 2 or 3 years old, and warranty is expired:

Contact Your dealer for instructions. All our dealers have received such instructions, and they will be happy to help You.
If You are old user, and already have me on contact list, please contact me directly for instructions.
All RIFF Box original users will have life time free support from me. (Life time - product life time) Not my life, or Yours.

We will also update these instructions in case that there is some new problem.
