Samsung GT-I8190N JTAG Issues

Hello,

I have purchased an adaptor to JTAG a Samsung GT-I8190N but I am having issues with the RiffBox detecting the handset - Do I need to add external power to the device as well as the PINOUT connectors?

Am i right that the charger needs to be connected directly to the battery pins or can i just use the usb port to charge? didnt think that would work due to it being used to transfer the data

Ah ok i get that now - you know why I would be getting the USB failed message when attempting to download the memory of the handset?

Hi - Thanks all for the reply - I have attempted to install the drivers for NTU8500 using the dpinst file within RiffBox folder - I have attempted to run it using Windows Vista and Windows XP but both times I have the error that it is not compatible.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so please can you let me know what you did to solve the problem

Im hoping once this is sorted i will be able to JTAG the handset.

This is the best settings that always worked for me. I also faced same problem like many users in here but finally with this settings i manage to fix many s3 mini without wasting time on TRYING and experimenting...
Open serial port...OK
Connecting to the RIFF Box...OK
Firmware Version: 1.37, JTAG Manager Version: 1.56
Selected Resurrector: [Samsung I8190 V1.0.4836.65460]

Connecting to the dead body...OK
Detected dead body ID: 0x4BA00477 - CORRECT!
Set I/O Voltage reads as 1.79V, TCK Frequency is 14.4 MHz

Resurrection sequence started.
Establish communication with the phone...OK
Initializing internal hardware configuration...OK
Uploading resurrector data into memory...OK
Starting communication with resurrector...OK

Detected an Initialized FLASH1 Chip, ID: 0x0045/0x0000 (SEM08G, 0x0001D2000000 Bytes = 7.28 GB)
Detected an Initialized FLASH2 Chip, ID: 0x0045/0x0000 (SEM08G, 0x000000200000 Bytes = 2.00 MB)

Selected Resurrection Data for the eMMC Chip with Capacity = 7.28GB

Flashing the dead body...OK
Resurrection complete!

JTAF TCK Speed : choose 14.4 MHZ
select DCC Loader USB Interface
change the drivers of NOVATHOR U8500. rockertime folder /driver located
INSERT USB AND WHEN THE BLUE LED OF RIFF START BLINKING.. INSTERT BATTERY NO NEED TO PRESS POWER BUTTON..

gsm-lab - I try to do this in your way but I still don't have any effects...

Open serial port...OK
Connecting to the RIFF Box...OK
Firmware Version: 1.37, JTAG Manager Version: 1.56
Selected Resurrector: [Samsung I8190 V1.0.4836.65460]
Restarting target (nRST Low then High)...OK

Connecting to the dead body...OK
WARNING: Connection via USB failed with Code: 0xC000FF01
Detected dead body ID: 0x4BA00477 - CORRECT!
Set I/O Voltage reads as 1.80V, TCK Frequency is 12 MHz

Resurrection sequence started.
Establish communication with the phone...OK
Initializing internal hardware configuration...OK
Uploading resurrector data into memory...OK
Starting communication with resurrector...OK

WARNING: DCC Loader was unable to initialize FLASH1 chip. Error code: 0x00000035

ERROR: No Resurrection Data is available for the eMMC Chip with Capacity = 0B

Phone is 100% OK but I need to get some data via DCC read
I don't know why NTU8500 show up in Device Manager only for a while and after this while it's gone. Every time when I restart the phone by unplug/plug USB cable.

I use power supply directly from RiFF BOX like here:
