HTC Hero Orange Problem

Last Saturday I managed to calculate a code on a HTC Hero locked to Orange UK. At the point of unlocking it was not mentioned this handset was locked to Orange as the firmware was unbranded.

I used power dongle to calculate the code no problem, and phone accepted code. The customer had the phone back, and when he put sim in it kept asking for the code.

Today he has bought phone back in, and power dongle keeps telling me the phone is not locked instead of telling me what the code was again. I have flashed the phone with rom required to unlock the phone properly, but am unable to reobtain the unlock code.

Due to lack of support I have had to sort out this issue myself in the end. Luckily for me my code supplier owed me a favour and gave me the code for the handset so it could be unlocked and returned back to the customer.

I AM NOt IMPRESSED!

For those looking for a replacement for power dongle go to XTC Clip (Full Version) which is being sold by Fone Fun Shop for only £35.99 inc VAT. I've just bought this tool and awaiting delivery later today for it. This should also unlock most models now
