Samsung GT-I9003 Repair Dead Boot

Things you'll need
  1. A USB SD card reader. Built-in card readers in laptops are not known to always work, if you follow these instructions and get an error, try using a USB card reader

  4. Navigate to where you downloaded the .img file and select it.
  5. Click "Write" in win32diskimager and wait for the process to complete.
  6. Insert the card into phone and move on to repair procedures with ORT

When your i9003's boot is totally damged,OMAP3630 will enter into sleep mode after power up.And only ICEPick is on the jtag scan chain. So jtag access to the cortax-a8 is disabled. But if there is boot in the micro sdcard,omap3630 will boot from the sdcard, and it won't enter sleep mode.At that time, you can read write its flash by ORT.OMAP3630 was supported by ORT long ago.So what you need to do is just make I9003's CPU not enter into sleep mode by a bootable sd card.
You can make a bootable sd card by win32diskimager.Just write the disk image into sd card by win32diskimager.Don't just copy I9003_SDBootCard.img to you sd card by Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V.It won't work by this way.

Hi.

I am not user of your product, but do have question.

Q: this SD card procedure - is it somehow related to a manufacture procedure?
(Do they place boot, like that?)

No..
Samsung GT-i9003 Galaxy SL Specs is OMAP 3 platform Omap 3630 CPU TYPE

Samsung GT-i9100 Galaxy S II is Samsung S5PV310 Exynos 4210 CPU type

totally different

OMAP 4 Platform (4430)

The OMAP 4 platform includes applications processors, a comprehensive software suite and power management technology to bring next-generation Smartphones and Mobile Internet Devices.

I think the LG P920 Optimus 3D / P920H is based OMAP 4430 cpu type

will see on feature in GPG-ORT

best regards
