hi,

this scheme will not work!!!
because you can't connect a extra external power supply!(on pin 9)
you have to disconnect the 78l05 from your'e com-port and put it on a ext. power supply!
o and don't for get to connect the gnd of the ext. power to the scheme gnd!

I have cable with pin 1 and 9 --gnd
tx and rx the same as on picture and no external power . I use it for flashing and unlocking without problem -only 1 cable. It works with gl1, gl3, cd5 8.5/8.7 unlocker and all flasher cd5 , j5 . I think all of problems depend on bad maked cables or bad contacts in connectors of cables. First of all are bad contacs.

why dont you just buy a ready made cable already modified with battery connectors that works 100% with the program supplied by me for £24.99, or the cable on its own for £18.99
look at site http://www.flasherfiles.co.uk/shop/sony_unlocking_kits.htm
