Unlocking CMD-J5? Have cable....

Unlocking CMD-J5? Have cable....

I'm trying to unlock this phone for a friend, I have a cable, no idea what it is he got it from market, sold as data cable.

I've tried the unlocking software and it doesn't see the phone. Nor does the logo program.

I tried BTS info program that does see it.

Have I got the wrong cable? (I read that only a data cable with wires that have been shorted to different pins should work with BTS prog?)

Is there anything I can do with the cable to make it work with the unlocking prog or do I need a different one?

Thanks

You need service cable to unlock this phone. I always use J5Reader and J5Generator to generate SIM-lock code.
Here you have this programs:
http://www.j70sc.private.pl/download...a/J5Reader.zip
http://www.j70sc.private.pl/download...J5Genrator.zip
To unlock your phone, connect the cable, run J5Reader, secect COM port, press "R" and press short ON in the phone. Program will be reading for few seconds and will ask you to enter the IMEI. Do it. In folder where is running this program you should find log file. Run J5Generator, click "Open log", and you will get SIM-lock and WAP-lock code. Now disconnect a cable, remove and insert again battery. Turn on the phone, enter *#7465625*32*SIM-lock code#. Phone will show "OK" and will restart. Enter *#7465625# - if you see "no active locks" - it means that everything is all right.

Thanks, I managed to find the software on your site. (the links above didn't open correctly, even though they seem the right address!?)

It worked. It's now unlocked! Thank you !!
