z5 Security Code (not PIN) - GSM-Forum

Hi All,

I bought a Z5 from Ebay & I put my SIM it in & all seemed fine. Then I went to add a name to the address book & I get a message saying you inserted a new SIM, the phone memory from the old SIM will be deleted, please insert the Security Code. I tried my PIN code but its not that. Where can I find this 'Security Code'.

BTW I've looked all over the net for the solution to this & it seems I'm not the only one with this problem but no-one else seems to have a clue.

Try the following that should reset your security code to 0000.

"superfactoryreset" = *#78737322867973738# remove simcard before entering. Phone will restart automatically.

"Securitycodereset" = *#73287489263373738# remove simcard. Security code will be 0000.

best of luck. Do post the result on the forum so we know what is the out come.

HI Guys,

I was able to solve my problem. I phoned the previous owner & he gave me the code (it is 4 digits).

I am still interested in the factory reset option as I have another Z5 for which I cannot get the code.
