Samsung S5830i help needed

I hope someone can help me with this
I have this phone which is not making calls, the signals are full but when I call after a few seconds it says call ended, the call doesn't even go through.

Can someone tell me what the problem could be?

I've read somewhere that an update might help:
The information about this phone are:
samsung gt-S5830i
android v:2.3.6
kernel v:2.6.35.7

Can someone tell me how I can update this phone as well?
THank you

My wife had The same phone, im pretty sure Android 2.3.6 is The latest firmware for this phone.
Maybe you can try a Factory reset, sometimes this helps.
(Dont forget tot backup everything, you'll never know when you need a backup! )

(Sorry for the bad english
