I thought from what I previously read is you need to open it and short the testpoints in order to flash the unbrick files. If you don't you cannot just flash it as is

yes it is for it, thereon if you were not able to connect TP, or you don't have TP

No one mentioned that you need a special edl cable to flash these. Can anyone confirm this

you dont.. i saved many G955U including my own with the files and a standard usb C cable

whoever says you do is just wrong.. you do however need a signed programmer and properly formatted xmls for it to work which theres lots working files floating around now
