Member: 2399672 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 187 | Meizu MX5 firmware upgrade Meizu MX5 firmware upgrade Although this is an MTK model; flashing with old method such as Sp flashtool wouldn't work although using the compatible firmware and would return and error because the baseband chip is secured and requires an authentification file. So in order to flash this phone a different upgrading tool would be used. All the files needed for this upgrading or soft unbricking operation are to be found in the download link. With no further do, let's get started. Firmware Upgrade Guide I. Preparations Hardware 1. A computer (recommended: dual-core CPU, 2 GB or larger memory, 250 GB or larger hard disk drive, and Windows 7 operating system) 2. USB cable 3. Meizu phone (with at least 30% of the power) Software (Downloaded from the link below) 1. Flyme firmware package (including both engineering and flyme OS firmwares) 2. Flashing tools (including the complete SFC and MultiUpgradetool) 3. Drivers (including the driver Driver_Auto_Install_v1.352.00 for the mobile phone and the softdog driver) II. Installing Drivers for the Mobile Phone and the Softdog 1. Open drivers folder and browse to Driver_Auto_Installer_v1.352.00 folder and excute the install batch file. (If the driver for the MX4 is installed, skip this step.) The system will display three to four messages. Select Always install the driver every time to proceed with the installation. The interface displays "Install Complete!", indicating that the MTK driver is installed. 2. Install the softdog driver. (If the driver for the MX4 is installed, skip this step.) Open EXE FOR PASSWORD folder and install ePass2003-Setup.exe A message is displayed indicating that the installation is complete. III. Upgrading the Flyme Firmware 1. Open the SFC directory. Run TestPCTool.exe and click Begin. 2. Within UPgrade Tool folder execute SPMultiPortFlashDownloadProject.exe. in the upgrading platform folder, and double-click. 3. Click on the scatter file and browse to the appropriate scater file. You might start with the engineering firmware if the phone is soft bricked and repeat the operation once the flash done with the Flyme os firmware. 4. Select the first N/A+N/A only, leave the type as Firmware upgrade and hit the scan button. A dialog box is displayed. Click Yes. 5. Power off the mobile phone, press the Volume-down button and insert the USB data cable into the mobile phone, until the two ports are detected and Scan Success! is displayed. Then, unplug the data cable. 6. Click Start on the right of the progress bar. The firmware loading window is displayed. 7. After the firmware is loaded (as shown in the figure below), press the Volume-down button of the mobile phone again and plug the USB data cable into the mobile phone. The mobile phone starts upgrading. The upgrade is complete, with START displayed Good luck. For further information you can send me a private message. Member: 2399672 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 187 | It must be the flyme account which is like the iCloud on the iPhone so far u think there isn't a way to bypass this account and I'm not sure if it would be bypassed by flashing the phone |

Member: 197827 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 12 | I have a full set for the MX4 firmware devices M2 and M2 note, MX5 and Pro5. But it needs some token key for access to the boot loader. There are ways to do it without a key? |
