Member: 1314938 Status: Offline Sonork: 100.1672340 Thanks Meter: 5,377 ![]() | Root Motorola Moto G with Android v4.4.4 KitKat via SuperBoot Tool Step-by-step procedure of firmware rooting on Motorola Moto G via SuperBoot tool: Step 1: Download SuperBoot application tool (here) into your PC. [Note: Before plugging the phone to the computer, be sure you have installed USB driver software, if not, click here to download the firmware] Step 2: Before proceeding ahead, enable USB debugger in Moto G, by going to settings >> About phone >> Developer options, tap it five times to enable it and then a new Developer options will get unlocked and then click 'USB Debugging' Step 3: Now, connect Moto G to your PC and extract r1-motog-superboot.zip to any location. Step 4: Now, turn-off of the phone, and disconnect from PC. Then, enter Bootloader mode, by press holding Volume (down) + 'Power' button. Step 5: Once you enter in to the Bootloader mode, connect the Moto G to PC (with Windows OS), then select 'superboot-windows.bat SD card' by double clicking on it. Step 6: Then, command prompt will pop up on the screen and continue with installation process. Once finished, reboot the phone manually. [Note: use 'Volume' keys to navigate and 'Power' button to select options, while operating under Recovery/Bootloader Mode] Step 7: Now, your device (Moto G) will take a few minutes (for the first time only) to complete the booting process. Once done with the process, use SuperSU app/ Root checker to confirm the rooting process on the phone. |

Download and Rename TWRP image | TWRP-lux-2.8.7-r5.img (rename the name: recovery) TWRP - xda-developers DevDB 2. Download and unzip the mfastboot on your desktop PC and transfer the .img file downloaded in step 1 3. Turn off your device and enter fastboot mode 4. Connect your device to the PC by USB media, and head to the mfastboot folder where you have unzipped firmware along with the files containing the folder mfastboot 5. You need to flash the following command, this is done in the ADB Tools folder by pressing the SHIFT key on your keyboard + Right Click on your mouse and leaving options you choose "Open command window here". mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img 6. Since flashed the TWRP recovery image write the below command to restart your device mfastboot reboot Root on your Moto X Play 1- Download and shift your internal memory SuperSU | UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip https://download.chainfire.eu/696/Su...erSU-v2.46.zip 3- Turn off your device and enter fastboot mode for 3 seconds by pressing the power button + volume down button. 4-Then fastboot mode and you should see the boot loader screen of your Android 5- Scroll with the volume down button and select Recovery to start in Recovery mode and confirm with volume up. 6- Go to Install> and search and search the archive UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip which moved to its internal memory, and proceed to install, confirming a Swipe. 7- already completed return to the main menu and make a Reboot system now. |

Extract files from Fastboot over to your desktop by right-clicking on it and selecting Extract here. 2. Turn off your device. 3. Turn your device back on in fastboot mode. To do that, hold down Volume DOWN and Power buttons together for a few seconds. 4. Your device should now be in fastboot mode. 5. Plug in your device to your PC using a USB cable. 6. Launch a Command Prompt Window on your desktop by holding down Shift and right-clicking anywhere on the screen and selecting Open command window here. 7. Type in the following command into the Command Prompt Window and hit Enter: Quote:
9. Head over to the Motorola Bootloader Unlock website and get yourself logged-in. If you don’t have an account with them, create one now. 10. One of the steps on that website will ask you to paste the string of text. Just paste the string that you’ve already copied to your clipboard and follow the on-screen instructions. 11. You’ll receive an unlock key to your email address. Copy that key to your clipboard. 12. Now, type in the following command replacing KEY with the actual unlock key that you’ve copied to your clipboard and hit Enter: Quote:
14. When it’s done unlocking the bootloader, reboot your device by issuing the following command: Quote:
And there you go. The bootloader on your Motorola Moto X Play is now unlocked, and you can now flash a custom recovery on your device. II. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the Motorola Moto X Play 1. Turn off your device. 2. Reboot your device into fastboot mode by holding down Volume DOWN and Power buttons together for a few seconds. 3. Connect your device to your PC using a USB cable. 4. Open a Command Prompt Window on your desktop. To do that, hold down Shift and right-click anywhere on your screen and select Open command window here. 5. Type in the following command into the Command Prompt Window and hit Enter. Make sure to replace recovery.img with the actual name of the recovery image that you have downloaded. Quote:
7. When it’s done flashing a recovery, reboot your device by using the following command: Quote:
Your Motorola Moto X Play now has a custom recovery using which you can gain root access on your device. III. Rooting the Motorola Moto X Play 1. Connect your device to your PC using a USB cable. 2. Copy SuperSU .zip from your desktop over to the internal SD card storage on your device. 3. Unplug your device from your PC when SuperSU is copied. 4. Turn off your device. 5. Turn your device back on in recovery mode. To do that, hold down Volume DOWN and Power buttons together. 6. Your device should reboot into bootloader mode. 7. Select Recovery from the options appearing on your screen. 8. Select Install in the recovery menu. 9. Choose SuperSU .zip to be installed on your device. 10. Tap on Swipe to Confirm Flash to confirm flash. 11. Wait for it to flash SuperSU on your device. 12. When it’s done flashing SuperSU, reboot your device by selecting Reboot followed by System in the recovery menu. 13. Your device should reboot.
