This will do most cars and trucks with stable information! With this interface you can use delphi, autocom and Wurth wow programs. This last wurth wow is so complete that also brings integrated a kind of autodata, with repair instructions for many common maintenance services! Get also Vag vcds 17 for as cheap as 60€ (quality cable), only for Vag group (seat, vw, etc) to deal with module coding, dct read/erase, etc! Fiatecuscan for fiat, alfa romeo, etc for a similar price! BMW INPA K CAN for BMW, mini cooper, etc. This cable you can use with PC and With android app (with otg cable and android device that support OTG as nexus 7 2013) to code BMW, mini cooper for also a similar price. Canclip for Renault - this one is more expensive (a bit more expensive than delphi) but very usefull for renault, dacia, etc. Delphi is a generic box to deal mostly with ecu dct errors, but can also code injectors, align steering whell, restart service lights, etc. But for a more precise functions, you need cables that deal with each group. Also, don't start just imediatly with ECU tunning, as this is somehow complicated and you can enter in hundreds of euros expenses by damaging ECU's. You will need to read a lot on how programs like winols works, how to deal with egr off, dpf off, give car more torque, hp, etc using fgtech galetto, mpps cable, kess/ktag to read/write dumps. So based on Your needs I'll give You the following piece of advice: 1- If Your needs are all about just diagnosis and erasing DTC then You'd go with an ELM327 based chip (better be a quality/genuine one) and for the software then I'd rather You to go with (ScanMaster-ELM) for about 59 Euros for only the software. 2- If You considering using tool for advanced functions such as ( ABS bleeding- Throttle adaptation - ECU Coding/Prgoramming) and so then like Desirat said Your resort will be either Delphi (DS150E) Multidiag Pro+ and You can also keep the following tool in mind which is actia multidi@g china clone interface, it's a (J2534 PassThru) based interface and no matter what software year is that (VCI) made for as You can get the 2011 Version for cheap (almost 159$) and then You can have it upgraded to 2017 - 2018 version using a debugging tool for a hex file dump, You can also have it reworked to be faster, more stable and safe to use in case of using for programming. this particular (VCI) as I mentioned earlier a (J2534 PassThru) based one so You can Rely on it in using many other software that are specific for each manufacturer such as (Toyota techstream - Nissan Consult III Plus - Honda HDS - JLR software for Jaguar and Landrover - GM GDS - GM TIS2000) and the list goes on.
