Hi, there is no blanket master password for any notebooks. Each password is unique for each notebook, generated from service tag with suffix. Sadly yours does not work that way. I believe your only option is to contact Dell support, sorry.

Hi Guys,

Have a pw gen, but there's a catch.

This is the HD serial as displayed.

Input: #***5VG346YX-2A7B
03.04.2013 08:32 DELL HDD serial number: ***5VG346YX-2A7B
password: CLqp2nkOz9nmwwS6

It accepts it but tells you that you have chosen to use a pword 'supplied by dell' and that it will erase all data on the hard drive if you choose to use it. Is there a non destructive way to do this, it doesn't seem like there is.
