and a hitachi travel star hdd but cant get serial as it is starred out on the password entry screen and the one on the hdd is longer than 11 chars

please help

If none of those work, post actual hhd serial even if longer than 11 char.

Passwords are for QWERTY keyboard only (standard US). Case sensitive.

Some units only require pressing <enter> after password, some require pressing <ctrl>+<enter> after password and some require holding down <ctrl> while pressing <enter> once or twice. Good luck.

Ok, try one of these:

elanl5l3 -small L between e and a, also between n and 5, also between 5 and 3-
0rmiax42 -begins with zero-

If do not work, may be bad hard drive. But then I don't claim to know everything
