I have a problem that I can't resolve,now 1 month

My laptop is a dell precision m6500 locked by a bios password (I think)
service tag is: 38Q2YP1-2A7B
I tried the dell software that I found this site: Dogbert's Blog: BIOS Password Backdoors in Laptops

and I found several passwords:

Dell hdd serial number by old : nnnnn1rn
Dell by serial number : c56QMp6H

Dell hdd serial number by new :
g0fj4i8s
28y2cvav
1y41Ws92QOO1VdC4
t95hnf5e

I tried this one because I bought a code on ebay to see if the problem came from the software:

qwerty: c56QMp6Hm06n1ehc
azerty : c(-AMp-Hmà-n&ehc

I then tested with ENTER or CTRL + ENTER and always wrong password

Last solution disassembled the PC to locate the eeprom but I can not find 24C02?
i find on google that I must make a short circuit?

A charitable soul could help me via skype? skype: killer94636

thanks.
This password should work with a qwerty keyboard:
c56QMp6Hm06n1ehc -zero between m and 6-
Enter password, hold down <CTRL> then press <ENTER> twice.

I turned on the laptop this morning and a white background screen popped up and the service tag number was DC4VR01-595B asking me to sign in as administrator.

Thanks again

Try on of these:
y87yd3u5
8b9dtj3y
Ajj6hIsPI02Xti2s
- zero between I and 2-
Instructions:
Passwords are for QWERTY keyboard only (standard US). Case sensitive. Some units only require pressing <enter> after password, some require pressing <ctrl>+<enter> after password and some require holding down <ctrl> while pressing <enter> once or twice.
Please report back with results. Good luck.

If the above do not work then after 3 wrong attempted in will give a error code. Example [12345]. Post that code.

The first password worked for the white screen asking for admin password and Windows 2000 booted up and now log in screen says user name administratoe and password. I tried all three not using and using control and none of the three worked. Please help. Thanks

I purchased it from a young girl who worked for a communication company and they went out of business and she gave me the password and it worked for years. This weekend I was trying to get the wifi working and stumbled across a setting that said computer for business or home use, I selected home use and now I am locked out. I never had the admin password. Thanks

Ok, this will take a little work on your side. Google a program called Ophcrack, download and run. Give it extra time when running, sometime takes several minutes.

I saw this thread and it is exactally what happened to me! OK, so I did a dumb thing. I've got a Thinkpad running W2K Pro and I bought it from a previous employer. Worked great for 3 years, and I got a new one and wanted to xfer the data to the new one and was told that if I configure it for a home network it would be easy.

Went into the Network Identification screen and changed it from a "Business Network" to a "Home Network" and then it forced a reboot.

After the reboot it will not recognize my user name/password .... nada.

So ... called IBM & Microsoft and they said to log on as the Admin and reset the password for my account. Sounded simple but ...

I DON"T HAVE THE ADMIN password.

Is there a way to get around this or am I forced to lose the data and re-install the operating system.

Please Help and tell me there is a way????

Thanks,
