but I think you can use internal sw from hp unlock*.exe in run cmd for hp pavilion & a**r

br,
free1600

this is only possible if you can start the notebook with some disk...
but in my case the laptop was completly locked even hdd was passowort protected...

so no chance to start any type of bios resetter programms...

for toshiba exists lpt port jumper trick...

for ibm thinkpad exists bootsector trick (you need a disc and manipulate the bootsector of your disc and start the laptop, is resetts the password)

some older laptop has standart passwords...

some laptops have resett jumper or you can short battery or take it out...

but in my case i had only 4 option...

.) conatct hp and pay for master passwort (you need the bill for this)

.) you buy a new eeprom by e_bay (to expensiv)

.) you read the eeprom out and extrakt the password or write new firmware on it

.) and the last one i did worked out...
i desoldered the eeprom, started the laptop, go in bios, solder back laptop (wail the laptop is running and in bios ) and type new passwort and save...

this overwritten the old bios passwort and i was able to use my new selected one...

now i know that only dataout and datain pins (2 + 3) must be desoldered for this... (look in datasheet of specific eeprom type).

Hi there,
Here some general information on Laptop startup/power on passwords:

Most of the computers, almost all of them now adays, can be "protected" by setting a power-on/startup password. This password has nothing to do with Operating System(OS). This password is saved in a chip called eeprom. Eeprom stands for electrically erasable programmable read only memory. Eeproms are responsible for saving the start up data of a computer Like how to boot, where to boot, which inputs and outputs and so on. The basic input output data info is saved in an EEPROM.
Diffrent brands use diffrent manners to program the eeproms for their PCs. Some are low secured and some very high.
Some brands are sensetive to CMOS battery. When the battery is removed, the eeprom resets to default factory. Examples are Compaq, Old fujitsu and some others.
Some brands are sensetive to short-cutting some pins on the eeprom or on board. Examplese are: Old Toshiba's, some dells and some IBMs.
Some brands provide hash code/system disable code. This code can be used to generate a master password to bypass the password. Examples are HP omnibooks, some fujitsus and so on.
A password can always be revealed by reading the eeprom data, decoding the data and finding out the password. This method is not very easy to do. The data on most of the eeproms, like IBM, DELL, HP, Toshiba and so on are crypted. Some encryption methods are now reversed engineered and can be found on the internet. But there are some new models/improvements which is not possible to decrypt yet. The hachers/crackers have not decrypted the method yet.

A newer chip better than eeprom is FLASH. This is faster than eeprom and they are already being used instead of eeproms in some brands like Toshiba. They are more difficult to read out and decrypt.

Another way of resetting a power on password is shorting some pins on eeprom. This is rather a very unsafe method. specially when the doer doesn't know what should be done. This also can cause troubles for bios settings in eeprom. The CRC errors on IBM are the very known problems.

There are also Harddisk passwords. Only Laptop Harddisks can be protected by password. This password is saved somewhere on the harddisk itself. The is set via bios if the bios of a laptop supports it. Hacking this is much harder and costs more energy which is not worth doing. Replacing the HDD is a much cheaper and easier option.

If there are some specific questions, I might be able to answer, but I am also a beginner.

I can generate master passwords for HP or other comptuers which provide hash code or system disable codes. it will cost you a little and paypal is used to transfer,

br,
TDW

first solution:

try to ground the battery negative and positive using lead or any small wire.. then press power on without battery.

second solution:

just remove bios battery inside your laptop and turn it on without the bios battery (usually it look like a black covered pc bios batt.)

tested by me 100 times
