i purchased r-sim and rpatch and its a total loss.

it doesn't work at all
i just spent $30 for nothing,

at the beginning i couldn' install the rsim app unless i set the the date to june2/2014.

You saying at the begining you cant install it. But after you set wrong date maybe you install it? I asking because turning back date didnt work out on my iPhone 5 iOS 8.1 i cant install iR0se tool.
