Eureka!

I managed to enable the 3G and SMS on my i5 CDMA Sprint! I had to use Jailbreak and R-Patch for it (the CDMA patch from Cydia not working). I'll do a step by step soon.

My setup is: iPhone 5 (A1429) CDMA Sprint, R-SIM 8, Cutted SIM 128K, Oi Brazil Operator.

Here is a photo gallery of the following: iOS7 CDMA Jailbreak and 3G/SMS Patch - a set on Flickr

1) Download evasi0n 7 from http://evasi0n.com/;
2) Run Jailbreak (very easy, follow the instructions);
3) Open Cydia store (wait for Preparing Filesystem and reopen it) on iPhone and go to: Magage >> Sources >> Edit >> Add;
4) Add ISAMTEAM Repo: http://www.isamteam.com
5) Open R-SIM&iSAMSIM;
6) IMPORTANT! In the tutorial from rsim5.com site, they ask to install the "CDMA Patch For iOS7/6", but it does not working, I think they are missing packages. Install "R-SIM iOS 7 5s/5c/5", which at present is the A: option;
7) Go ahead and confirm the installation;
8) Reboot your iPhone;
9) The device is actived! But working only in EDGE mode;
10) Download R-Patch from: https://shared.com/1apnkej35u (I who made this upload);
11) Remove any APN profile you may have installed, eg the unlockit.co.nz site;
12) Run R-SIM_5.1.3.0.exe (iTunes is required);
13) Trust your computer on iPhone;
14) As you can see, the R-Patch does not know that the iPhone is jailbroken. That's right.
15) Click INSTALL;
16) Accept the installation of APN profile on iPhone;
17) That done, reboot;
18) Open RSIM3 on iPhone then touch Continue;
19) Turn OFF switch button;
20) In Settings >> Cellular, Enable Data Roaming;

Enjoy!

Bonus: To enable Personal Hotspot, install TetherMe from the R-SIM & iSAMSIM repository.

If you have any questions just talk.

If you want to upgrade to iOS 7, you can use the procedure I posted above. Appears to be well secured, I redid it twice before posting this walkthrough.

But ... You must have the R-SIM (any version, I believe) and pay the 3G Patch (USD 8.99)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The patch is free.

3G is dependent on your SIM card. R-SIM does not enable 3G unless you have an older SIM card cut to nano size. If you have a newer SIM, you will only get 2G with the jailbreak steps.

What is your SIM carrier and country?

3G patch is available from rsim5.com/nano4g on your iPhone.

Thanks for the detailed guide, but you can get the free 3G patch here on your iPhone's mobile Safari:

I had the 3G patch from iOS 6 so it was that I tested and got. If someone want to test with nano4g, feel free. What I did was describe exactly what worked for me.

It seems that there is another solution here.

I have not tried yet.
