EDL testpoint must be performed without battery.
I'am usually disconnect battery, solder 2 wires to testpoint, connect together wires, insert cable, and after disconnect wires.
When phone will enter in edl state, opened exe will show opened port in status bar.
This mettod allow to not make any hardware damages in phone by mistake.
In your case is more like hardware problem with phone or connection problem.

Phone can't initialise loader,
Loader start in ram, after starting loader, loader make hardware initialisation, and flash ic initialization.
In your case, phone give error on starting loader, and this can meen hardware problems.
It have nothing to do with erased firmware, check once again phone hardware.
