red = counters left in this case 10
blue = counters used in this case 0

if you enter 1 time wrong code red will be 9 blue 1

You answer faster than me hehehe....got sleepy

@arvie
Try to learn how to use usb sniffer or com port sniffer, and get some working exe for usb modem and sniff some commands buffer sent and received.
You will find more. Just analyze the data you got.

New modem from globe that comes in red box cannot be unlock by this time.
Coz counters are already set to 10, and firmware is customized. It can't accept NCK codes coz counter is already block by network. Only patch unlock can be the possible way.
I tried to supply hash for reset counters, it is always throw me an error coz firmware is customized grrrr....

another possible solution is to down-grade the firmware..
is it possible?

If you tried to downgrade the firmware, it always got stuck and downgrade will not continue.

Another useful command for enableing / disableing
the annoying virtual CD drive:
Code:
AT^U2DIAG=X
where X is for device with microsd (keep microsd):
256=Disable virtual CD
255=Enable virtual CD

where X is for device without microsd:
0=Disable virtual CD
1=Enable virtual CD

To check network card is / was locked to, reply will be
MCCMNC. (in example E1550 from telenor serbia)
Code:
AT^CARDLOCK=?
^CARDLOCK: (22001,22001)

OK

How about this?
ATZ, Reset to Default Configuration
AT&F, Set to Factory-Defined Configuration

------------------------------------------
Can we calculate unlock codes using scientific calculator?

decimal to hex <- check
AND XOR OR <--- check
MD5 <-- imposible? lol

those AT commands (ATZ) are standard from 80s.
everyone know them and not specific to HUAWEI

about calculating on a scientfic calculator:

well you need programmable calculator, like HP48
where you can execute custom scripts/programs
to calculate MD5. for HP48 i know that exists an
MD5 library.

in fact any scientific programmable calculator like
HP48, TI-92, TI-83, ... that has enaugh memory
and can execute custom code.

you can of course also calculate MD5 function and
by paper if you are familiar with algorithm (i begin it,
but not finished until now since it takes lot of time
and is boring...)

Man this is bad news!

What if you wish to buy the unlock code from the operator? Surely if you buy this set on a contract and then complete each month payment, the phone legally becomes your property (ie. you should be given the unlock code free cos you paid for the set..)

I don't know if GLOBE Telecom is giving nck codes for their modems sold in the market, telco competition here in Philippines is very tight
Huawei modems from globe is not in monthly payment and no contract, it is prepaid.
Maybe they change the algo in that firmware so that we cant reset the counter. Even DC Client cannot reset that counter, Maybe the algo for NCK calculation is the same. So we need to find a way to reset that counter.
