hi, you need either a cell phone connected to a pc via data cable preferably a nokia with data connectivity kit, or a nokia gateway modem. Then afterwards you need the interface software. Using a nokia cell phone you can use Oxygen SMS activex to interface with the hardware, and use any windows programming tool you prefer, while using the gateway modem you will have to create your interface via AT modem commands. Lastly use your programming imagination.

There are several apps with nokia + sms control. U can use the phones serial I/O to switch on/off any devices (like server, alarm system, etc) with sending a specific sms message. Or u cvan check the status of that devices ). Search for this forum!
