Samsung MSL Bypass?

Can you please explain what exactly is the MSL in Samsung phones? Examples like bypass/reset MSL is needed to unlock/repair imei on phones. Some phone require it others don't. I know on qualcomm based samsungs the SPC is always 000000 but then what is the MSL reset used for? I though they were the same. Anyway I know many tricks for samsung such as imei repair and unlock in many newer android models but MSL reset on others models is very different.
Examples like i9100/i9000/i927 require bypass msl after rewrite nv_data.bin with desired imei in order to repair the IMEI, and others models like i997 only require to rewrite nv_data.bin.

You already answered yourself.
The main part of MSL is work with security flag to get access to hidden NVM units or to some additional service in AT commands.
Broadcom example:
AT+MSLADDSNUM, AT+MSLSECUR, AT+SECUNBLOCK
Qualcomm diagnostic example:
0xFA, 0xB4, 0XB5

But there many algorithms of MSL so no way to explain all of them :)

thank you for the answer. Can you explain one way of reset msl on android? I noticed they don't use the modem but ADB with root privilege. Would the bml3/stl3 partition contain this? I am not sure if you are familiar with CDMA QCM, but is the msl almost the same as the SPC?

Reopen thread cause need send msl to a samsung with qsc62xx I tried default AT+MSLSECUR=2,222222 but not work. Its there a way to calc for this cpu?

Isn't 222222 the default SPC for Sprint Samsung CDMA phones? I thought the MSL was a much longer string...?

To bypass spc on Sprint is very simple

AT+MEIDAUTH=0,0,2012112120131219

AT+MEIDAUTH=1,0,0

AT+MEIDAUTH=0,1,[SPC]

then you can do wherever you want because this model no need akseedno

SPC= 6 digits
