    Replace T610 antenna with a T616 antenna?

I read in another forum that some users have replaced their T610 antenna with the antenna from a T616 and have seen an 3db improvement in reception. However one user mentioned that the T616 antenna might damage the T610 because of a difference in bands used (850 vs 900) between the two phones. Has anyone here tried this mod and seen an improvement in reception? Also, is this user's concern about damage that could be caused by the T616 antenna valid?

    Thanks

test it your self... it can't damage the phone...

Thank you, but I was actually refering to a different forum all together: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...hreadid=270811

A poster there said that damage could be caused, so I wanted to see if anyone here could confirm that.

2 things... first, if you're only going to be using the t610 with the t616 antenna in the USA, then it won't matter at all because the phone will never be on 900mhz or 850mhz. It'll just stay on 1900mhz, which both antennas are already tuned for.

secondly, i think that the person doesn't quite know what he's talking about in relation to these phones. I think this for two reasons. First of all, the T610 antenna is R1A, and the T616 antenna is R2A. This leads me to believe that all it is is a newer revision of the antenna hardware. Also, the fact that the antenna must work with THREE different bands means that it's probably a bit flexible with signal

Just thought I'd report that I recieved a T616 antenna today and installed it in my T610. I'm happy to report that it has improved my reception by one bar, and I now have service in my office where I previously had not
