how can I erase my data from old iphone 5s?

Hello, does anybody knows how to completely erase all data from iPhone 5s? I need to sell this old phone on ebay, because i got a new iphone 7 plus. I surely deleted the all data like contacts, messages, photos on iPhone 5 but I worried if the next owner can recover my deleted information, so, how can I wipe my iPhone data and make them unrecoverable? Thanks!

As far as I know, factory reset is not secure enough to protect the data. I have tested it on my iPhone 4S and some of the data such as photos are still accessible by special software.

This method is more robust as it writes random data to fill the disk several times and it is impossible to recover the data on the phone.

You should use third party tool like iOS data eraser which is the best for removing any data from your iPhone. This software permanently erase the data without any option to recover and is safe to use. It is important to erase your iPhone data before selling.

What to do Before You Sell Your Old iPhone?

1. Unlock your iPhone with carriers, you can ignore this step if your iPhone came without lock.

2. Get a backup of your iPhone

You’ll need to create a backup of your existing phone that you then can restore to the new phone when you receive it. If you use iCloud for your backups, the service creates a new backup overnight when you plug in your device.
Alternatively, you can use iTunes or 3uTools to store your backup on your computer.

3. Disable Find My iPhone

Activation Lock is an anti-theft measure that prevents anyone from using your phone if it is lost or stolen. Find iCloud from Settings, and sign out again when prompted

4. Erase your iPhone

Last but not least, you’ll want to erase all the content and settings of your iPhone before you give it to someone else. Simply open Settings and tap General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.

Check detail on 3uTools
