i tryed upodate to version 3.0 but i got this error
The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An Unknown error occurred (14)
now its on itunes logo and cen't restore by older versions (same error).
please help.

Bro...... try to restore in DFU mode........ using itunes.

Hi Mr Malllik,
after download the OS 3.0 firmware it is a ZIP folder.iTunes could not recorgnized the ZIP file
can you tel me how to CONVERT the file in ".ipsw" format.
please its very urgent

All u need to do is right click the zip file, select rename then change the file extention from ".zip" to ".ipsw" the format would change

I had the same issue with my desktop at first try. But i decided to use my laptop and it worked. The issue is between the itune version u are using and your usb port.

Though on the laptop i made sure to completely uninstall the old version of itune and install the latest. When i connected to the laptop itune recommended restore and i used shift+restore in oreder to browse for the downloaded firmware and it worked.
