solution is here u try write 3.1.3 firmware on it will give error dont worry now u will try to write 4.0 firmware it will give error again but after few minunes fon will revive automatically 100% checked 2 mobiles 3g

my phone is on iOs 4.0 - base band 6.15 - im trying to install custome firmware 4.2.1 (with BB 6.15) but keep getting the 1015 error

hmm so i tried doing this

1)first i put in DFU state using redsnow

2) Then using iREB i put it in green screen state (which is ment to make sure custom firmware can be loaded

3) tried installing the firmware again in itunes and this time instead of 1015 error i get 1611 error

hmm any ideas on that then ?

same problem,error 1015,under stuck recovery,no one can say just downgrade to 4.1 coz 4.2.1 has baseband requirement.. is this easy for you to downgrade?no one can tell if the BB gets up to 6.15 unless springboard is open and check the BB in the settings .many solution render..if others says working fine... well its your luck if you got it ... but others, are just fooling around.we need a proof.not as fairy tale story

Ok Guys Since I Dont Have 4.0/4.1 FW I Downgraded To 3.1.3 And Yeah It Gave Me Error 1015 But After That I Use TinyUmbrella To Kick Device Recovery Mode...And Run Redsn0w To Jailbreak Hope I Help U Guys...

lol i was just about to post that - 100% except i did used 4.1

1)DFU via redsnow
2)install 4.1 via tunes - get 1015 error
3)unblock via tinyumbrella phone reboot and goes to firmware apple loading screen - does a strange apple install screen like firmware updgrade then onto apple stock activation screen for me becuase i have USA phone in UK
4)redsnow jailbreak using 4.1
5) rebooted and its fixed - feewwwww had me stuck for a few days

so eh in the end im back to 4.1 with 6.15 base band but at least i can unlock my phone and it works yehhh

lol give it a few days and i might try and install stock 4.12 using the same method as my base band is 6.15 i dont need to use the custom firmware anymore just stock

update i just did the exact same thing except i used stock 4.1.2 from the start and it works just the same as im now on 4.1.2 yippeeee

well i do something different - but i dont think it mattered

jus part4) i tried the "boot phone tethered" option first and it just seems to say on the pineapple screen so then i just continued from part 4 and it just worked.

after follow your method, my iphone 3G now is ios 4.1 and the BB is 6.15, but i cannot kick it out of recovery mode, now it stay in recovery mode always... what should i do now?

u need to jailbreak using redsnow to get past the usb restore screen
