Is it possible to unlock an apple iphone 1.1.2 to older versions?

Does Anyone have any tips or knowledge on unlocking a new 1.1.2 phone? (not the updated version but the new one)

I have read forums all over now for over 4-5 hours and some people say its possible while others dont.

I just got an Apple Iphone 1.1.2 or 04.02.13_G with baseband 4.06 at the USA Apple Store.

All I want to do is downgrade it and have it unlocked with all its features (phone, ipod, internet)
I dont care whether its 1.02 unlocked or 1.1.1 unlocked.

Right now the phone isn't much use to me and I dont want an ipod touch as this is my only phone right now.

I know it has a lot to do with the baseband. Does anyone know how to make it so that it doesn't block the unlock process? Is it possible to change the baseband?

I've seen websites that says you can downgrade to 1.1.1 and then unlock but they dont say how so it must be possible.

If anyone can help at all even with some tips of how I can downgrade and unlock my phone that would be fabulous.

Thanks everyone and Happy Holidays.

only firmware downgrade doesnt help you, you also need to downgrade ur baseband which is not possible at the moment. many people claims that they do it, so waiting for result weather they do or just

in mean time u can downgrade it to 1.1.1 or 1.0.2 for enjoy itune music, and keep ur eye on boards to get success theory.

Downgrading baseband is no problem. I can do it. Downgrading bootloader is something else. But you dont have to downgrade the baseband because the latest one 04.02.13G can be unlocked without a problem.

I hope this will help a lot of people, because they are mixing up firmware/baseband and bootloader.

If you have an Iphone with firmware 1.1.2 and baseband 04.02.13G and bootloader 4.6 you can't unlock your Iphone yet.

If you have updated to firmware 1.1.2, it doesn't matter from what version, it can be from 1.1.1 or 1.0.2, than you have baseband 04.02.13G (because with updating Itunes give you new baseband, not new bootloader) and it can be unlocked without problems. Upgraded iphones to 1.1.2 still have old bootloader like 3.9.

So all Iphones, out the box (OTB), starting from week 45> (check 4th and 5th number from SN on backside), with firmware 1.1.2 and baseband 04.02.13G have boot 4.6 and there is no solution at this time.

You can hardware unlock your Iphone with Turbosim but it costs EUR80 and you need to cut your simcard.

If you have an OTB 1.1.2 Iphone with baseband 04.02.13G and bootloader 4.6 you can downgrade with Itunes to 1.1.1. You still have the new bootloader so you can't unlock it but you can activate it. You need to jailbreak and you can use it.

I hope i made no mistakes

Buy a TurboSIM, StealthSIM or the likes. That's the only way you can unlock your iPhone and use the phone function. Good luck!

no simple solution to unlock your iphone 1.1.2, u can use EASYiSIM adaptor to unlock your iphone, it is more simple way then turbo sim. no software up or downgrade it doesn't void your iphone warranty as well, since it just a SIM adaptor.
PM me for further info or purchase.

No software unlock solution yet. If you update to 1.1.2 your phone dont have active springscreen. You can downgrade to 1.1.1 and jailbreak, 1.0.2 is also not a problem
