unlock iphone 3g - GSM-Forum

Hi friends,
i'm having iphone 3g and i want to unlock it.it is having version 2.2.1(5h11). How can i unlock it.I have gone through the posts but i'm new to this iphone and i am unable to do that.Please help me in doing that.before unlocking i tried to copy songs to that but when i open itunes i'm unable to sync as when i'm selecting iphone it is not showing my iphone specifications and all other stuff,instead it is asking me to connect to internet inorder to connect to apple store...

please help me in unlocking my iphone...after unlocking can i use my phone with all its features.

Please check the modem version.
And then let us know.
If it is 2.28, then you can unlock it directly

Yes, after unlocking u can use all the features.
If it is 2.30, then most probably not without any turbo sim

modem firmware is 2.30.03....
wat actually is this turbo sim...
can i downgrade it to 2.28

You can only downgrade it if you have bootloader 5.08. No solution yet for 5.09 or higher. 5.08 bootloader is on phones built before september 2008

brother u just restore with iPhone1,2_2.2_5G77_Restore ver and then jailbreck with latest winpwn then hack....

unknowingly i have reset my iphone using erase all media and settings which erased all the content in my iphone.after formatting it is asking to connect to itunes.But when i connected it to itunes it is saying that the valid sim card must be inserted to activate the phone please help me

Sir try this DFU mode

connect iphone to itunes while the iphone is on
turn off phone by not disconnecting to your PC

then press power on and home botton together count at least 10 sec

release powerbotton while holding still the home botton

just wait until u see on itunes detected ur iphone....

i have downloaded quickpan and also downloaded iPhone1,2_2.2.1_5H11_Restore.ipsw and using quickpan i restored the firmware...Now i am able to get back my menu and everything.....
But the problem here is i need to unlock it
