PLEASE HELP! Sim Lock Card Locked! Please Contact Operator! Reset Key? Alcatel OT-708 - GSM-Forum

I have a Vodafone 541 Red which I believe also goes under the name of Alcatel OT-708. Anyways tried unlocking the phone and tried a number of combinations for the Network Key and now I'm stuck with this message...

Sim Lock Card Locked!
Please Contact Operator!
Reset Key?

I contacted Vodafone and they said there is no longer nothing they can do for my phone, basically it's bricked. However I don't believe it and I hope someone will be able to PM me with someway to sort this problem out. Cause I don't want to have to throw away a €49 mobile phone in the bin.

I have never been on these boards before but I hope someone can help me out.
