Q. How long does the battery last?
A. The rechargeable battery keeps Pebble going for 7+ days, while connected by Bluetooth to a smartphone.

Q. Does the watch display stay on all the time?
A. Yes. The display shows a watchface at all times.

Q. Does it have a backlight?
A. Yes, Pebble has a backlight to view the display at night.

Q. Is it waterproof?
A. Pebble is now water resistant, at least enough to go swimming, run in the rain etc. You can fully submerge Pebble in water. We're working on getting the actual certification level settled (3ATM, 5ATM, etc). This is in response to your suggestions!

Q. Scratchproof?
A. Yes, Pebble has a scratch and shatter resistant lens with an anti-glare optical coating.

Q. Does it use up my phones battery?
A. Pebble is a Bluetooth device, similar to a Bluetooth headset. It does affect the battery life of your phone, usually using up an extra 5-10% per day.

Q. How does it charge?
A. We include a special USB cable. You can charge Pebble using your computer or any wall USB charger.

Q. Can I replace the bands?
A. Yes, Pebble is designed to fit most 22mm watch bands.

Each Pebble has a textured plastic case, shatter resistant lens with an anti-reflective optical coating and a custom-designed 22mm rubber strap. You'll also receive a special USB cable that recharges the watch

The Pebble display is not eInk, it's a different (better, we believe) e-paper technology that allows for backlighting as well as the smooth 30fps animations you saw in the video.

At the moment we're not planning to support pairing multiple devices to a Pebble simultaneously. (but) yes, we are designing Pebble to connect to your iPhone at the same time as a Bluetooth headset. Obviously there are thousand of different Bluetooth headsets, car kits etc and there may be some issues with certain models but we're aiming to be Bluetooth compliant in this respect.

That's correct, the dimensions are 5cm x 3cm.

The battery will be a rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery. It's not designed to be user replaceable.

waterproofing: we're still working on this, but it will be at least 3ATM or 5ATM of water resistance.

Pebble’s ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller will have 8 times more Flash memory and 12 times more RAM than inPulse.

Each app is roughly 32kb and the pebble shall have 2MB of flash storage. So lots of apps.

They've already said they cant have interchangable fronts AND be waterproof without making the watch bigger than it already is. Yes, this is basically it. (and) We're not planning to have this capability at this point. It would not be good for waterproofing.

Want to connect either macbook or Windows laptop to control my powerpoint presentation. Should be totally possible!

Yes, we're going to work with with IFTTT to get a dedicated Pebble output channel set up.

Will there be an option to disable bluetooth completely on the device (i.e. when in an airplane)? Yes

Pebble's range is approximately 20-30 feet.

Yes, you will be able to see a list of recently received notifications on your Pebble.

(Built-in apps include) Date, chronometer and alarm will all be available as built-in functions, among many other ones!

Pebble can run apps even when it is not connected to a smartphone. Some specific apps may require the phone connection though.

Pebble will support firmware updates over Bluetooth. The wired connection is just for charging.

Pebble will use bitmap fonts. System fonts will be available in various sizes. You will be able to package fonts with your app for use in that app, if none of the system fonts are suitable.

Do I need tethering service on my phone contact for this watch to work?
btw, Its an iPhone. No, absolutely not! It works with your existing data plan. Pebble even works if you don't have a data plan and just use wifi.

We will be publishing open specifications for the protocol of sending notifications to Pebble. So if any other developers want to add other phone support, they will be able to do that. Naturally that support will be 3rd party and not as extensive as our own native apps, but it could be possible for a 3rd party developer to add. (and) Should be possible for a 3rd party developer to add Blackberry support. We just can't promise to do it because we want to focus on making Pebble awesome for all the backers who have contributed up to this point as an iOS and Android device
