yes some cable have problems
you can use other com based box then use it

i have n7100 imei repair failed,, what is problem sir ?

Seems your original IMEI corrupted.

You have to go Android Tab then, Repair Tab

Now choose IMEI, Com port that mobile is using current time and hit "Unlock IMEI Repair" and wait a while. Done.

Yes you can connect fidi cable directly to computer. It makes COM Port.

Note: You need to install fidi cable driver so that it works.
